To-do List Tool

Organize daily tasks with simple lists

Manage Tasks

Tip: Your tasks are saved automatically in your browser.

Your List

  • No tasks yet. Add one!

Your Brain is for Thinking, Not for Remembering Milk

There is a famous productivity quote: “Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them.”

Yet, most of us treat our brains like a sticky-note factory.

  • Update the client presentation.

  • Order veggies on Blinkit.

  • Call the plumber.

  • Check if the SIP deduction happened.

In my 15 years of juggling code deployments and house chores, I’ve learned that trying to remember everything is the fastest way to forget the important stuff.

While complex apps like Notion or Jira are great for managing teams, they are overkill for your daily life. You don’t need a Gantt chart to remember to water the plants. That is why I built this lightweight To-do List Tool. It is a digital scratchpad designed to offload your mental RAM instantly, so you can actually focus on the work in front of you.

The “Local Storage” Magic (Why No Login?)

You will notice something strange about this tool: There is no “Sign Up” button.

I hate creating accounts for simple tools. It’s friction. Instead, this tool utilizes a browser technology called Local Storage.

  • How it works: When you type a task, the tool saves it directly into a secure, dedicated space in your Chrome or Edge browser’s memory.

  • The Result: You can close the tab, restart your laptop, or come back three days later, and your list will still be there. It’s persistent, but it lives only on your device.

The “Dopamine Hit” of the Checkbox

There is a psychological reason why to-do lists work. It’s called the Zeigarnik Effect—our brains nag us about unfinished tasks.

Writing them down silences the nagging. Checking them off releases dopamine. This To-do List Tool is designed to maximize that flow:

  1. The Brain Dump: Don’t prioritize yet. Just type everything currently cluttering your mind into the input box and hit Enter. Get it out of your head.

  2. The Filter: Use the “Active” tab to see what’s pending. Seeing a list of 5 items is less overwhelming than vague anxiety about “everything I have to do.”

  3. The Purge: Once you’re done, hit “Clear Completed.” Watching those finished tasks vanish is oddly satisfying.

Privacy: Your Data Stays With You

I often write down sensitive reminders like “Renew health insurance policy number X” or “Buy gift for wife.”

I wouldn’t trust that data to a random cloud server. Because this tool uses Client-Side logic, your data never travels over the internet. You are effectively typing into a private vault inside your own browser. No database admin (including me) can ever see your tasks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will I lose my list if I close the window? A: No. Thanks to Local Storage, your data persists across sessions. However, if you clear your “Browser History/Cookies,” the list will be wiped. Think of it like a whiteboard in your office—it stays there until you wipe it clean.

Q: Can I see this list on my phone if I typed it on my laptop? A: No. Because there is no cloud server syncing your data, the list is specific to the device. This is actually a feature, not a bug—it keeps your “Work List” on your work computer and your “Home List” on your personal phone, preventing burnout.

Q: Is there a limit to how many tasks I can add? A: Practically, no. You can add hundreds of items. But if your daily to-do list has 100 items, you don’t need a tool; you need an assistant! Keep it to the top 5-10 priorities for the best results.
