Assumptions

  • Dice notation, count, sides, roll count, and modifiers are validated before rolling.
  • Each die roll is generated independently within the selected side range.
  • Advantage keeps the higher attempted total, and disadvantage keeps the lower attempted total.

Dice Roller Guide

What the Dice Roller does

The Dice Roller rolls common dice types using server-side randomization and returns the latest total, best roll, lowest roll, average, and roll history. It supports multiple dice, modifiers, repeated rolls, sorting, and advantage or disadvantage mode.

It is useful for tabletop games, classroom probability examples, quick random choice demos, and testing dice notation like 2d6+3.

Example roll

If you choose two six-sided dice with a +3 modifier, the notation becomes 2d6+3. A roll of 4 and 5 produces a total of 12. With advantage mode, the tool rolls two attempts and keeps the higher total; with disadvantage it keeps the lower total.

Limits and fairness notes

  • Dice count, dice sides, roll count, and modifiers are validated before rolling.
  • Random values are generated server-side with PHP random_int.
  • The tool is for games and practice; it is not a gambling, lottery, or audit-grade randomness system.

Privacy and processing

Dice settings are sent to the EasyUtilityHub fun-tools endpoint for the current roll only. The roll history shown on the page is the result returned to your browser for copy or CSV download.

Troubleshooting

  • If notation is rejected, use a simple format such as 1d20, 2d6+3, or 4d8-1.
  • If the table is large, reduce the number of repeated rolls or download the CSV.
  • If advantage or disadvantage seems confusing, compare the selected attempt total against the history row.
